The Bay Run

The perfect waterfront walk

If you're looking for a scenic walk that suits almost everyone, the Bay Run is a Sydney favourite.

Located around Iron Cove in Sydney's Inner West, this popular 7 km loop follows the waterfront through suburbs including Drummoyne, Russell Lea, Rodd Point, Haberfield and Lilyfield. The mostly flat pathway makes it an excellent option for walking, running, cycling and getting some fresh air without tackling steep hills or challenging terrain.

Distance: Approximately 7 km
Time: Around 1.5–2 hours walking, or less if running
Difficulty: Easy
Terrain: Mostly flat, paved foreshore pathways
Dog-friendly: Yes, on-leash along the shared route

💚 Why visit?

The Bay Run is a great all-rounder. Whether you're aiming for 7 km of exercise, enjoying a leisurely waterfront stroll or taking the dog out for some fresh air, it's an easy trail to incorporate into your routine.

My tip: Go early in the morning for a quieter walk and a peaceful start to the day.
