Meet The Founder
Hi, I'm Alison! 👋
I'm a 29-year-old originally from Sydney but moved to Canberra in October 2026.
I have a love for good coffee, long walks, running, great books, and meeting new people. I’ve always been passionate about creating spaces where people feel welcome, supported, and connected.
I started Girls Who Gather Club with one simple goal: to make it easier for women to meet new people and build genuine friendships. As adults, making friends isn't always easy, so I wanted to create a community where showing up is enough. No pressure, no expectations!
When I'm not organising events, you'll usually find me training for my next run, exploring local cafés, reading, or spending time with my Cavoodle, Barney, who would happily join every coffee catch-up if he could!

About the club
What started as a simple idea has grown into a space for connection.
This community was created to bring women together through the simple things—good coffee, movement, great books, and genuine conversation. In a world where making new friends as an adult can feel difficult, I wanted to create a welcoming space where women could meet, connect, and build meaningful friendships.
Each week we'll gather for coffee at a local café, head out for a walk or run, or get together over a good book. There's no pressure to be the fastest runner, the biggest reader, or the most outgoing person in the room. Just come as you are.
Whether you've recently moved to Canberra, you're looking to meet like-minded women, or you simply want to try something new, you're always welcome here.
