Hi I’m Alison, the owner of Neighbourhood Paws!

I’m 28 years old and currently a full-time university student studying a Bachelor of Social Work. I’ve grown up with dogs and have always had a special love for animals. My first dog was Chester, a pug I got when I was 12, and I now have my six-year-old Cavoodle, Barney, named after Barney Rubble from The Flintstones.

Starting a pet care business has been a dream of mine for a while. As a dog owner myself, I know how difficult it can be to find a local dog walker or cat and dog sitter that you can genuinely trust to care for your pets. Capital Paws is my way of turning that dream into something meaningful while having fun, spending time with animals and enjoying the outdoors. Being outside, going for walks and seeing a happy dog enjoying a good sniff around the park is something I love, and it’s also a great way for me to take a break from the stresses of university. With experience in dog walking, dog sitting and cat sitting, I’m passionate about providing your pets with the care, attention and love they deserve.

Free meet & greet

As every pet is different, I'll do a free meet & greet before every booking, giving us a chance to meet, chat about your pet’s routine and make sure they feel comfortable with me.

No obligation, just a friendly hello and some time to get to know your furry friend!
