Start assessments early

"I'll start it this weekend."

Famous last words.

Starting an assessment early doesn't mean you need to finish it weeks before the deadline. Even opening the document, reading the question and creating a rough plan can make the whole thing feel much less overwhelming.

My favourite approach is to break an assessment into tiny jobs:

Read → research → plan → draft → edit → reference → submit.

Suddenly, "write a 2,000-word assignment" doesn't sound quite so terrifying.
