Ask for help

You don't have to figure everything out by yourself.

Australian universities generally have support services available for students, which may include academic support, counselling, accessibility services, financial support and wellbeing services.

If you're struggling with a subject, talk to your tutor or lecturer.

If you're struggling with university more generally, reach out to student support.

Asking for help isn't failing. Sometimes it's simply the most sensible thing you can do.

University is important, but it doesn't have to consume every waking moment.

Keep doing the things you enjoy outside of study.

Go for a walk. See your friends. Read something that isn't on your reading list. Go for a run. Try Pilates. Get coffee. Have a lazy Sunday.

Having things in your week that aren't related to university can actually make it easier to come back to your studies feeling refreshed.
